FEFKA Writers Union

The collective voice representing Malayalam scriptwriters, lyricists, fostering creativity and protecting rights.

About Us

The FEFKA Writers Union is the official association of scriptwriters and lyricists within the Malayalam film industry, operating under the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA).

Formed to uphold the creative and professional interests of writers, the union stands as a collective platform that fosters collaboration, protects authorship rights, and promotes excellence in Malayalam cinema.

Through its activities, FEFKA Writers Union works to ensure that the voices behind the screen — the scriptwriters and lyricists — receive the recognition, support, and opportunities they deserve. The union also plays a key role in nurturing young writers and creating a strong creative ecosystem for the future of Malayalam films.

Our Mission

To bring together film writers, lyricists, and story creators under a unified forum, encourage the creation of quality screenplays and lyrics, and promote their cultural and creative development. To foster mutual understanding, unity, and cooperation among members and to contribute meaningfully to the progress of Malayalam cinema.

To protect the professional, creative, and social interests of individuals working in the film industry, and to strengthen the unity among screenwriters and lyricists through cooperation and collective action.

To ensure that the activities of the union are conducted democratically and transparently, promoting equality and fairness among all members.

Our Vision

To be the leading force in empowering Malayalam scriptwriters and lyricists, ensuring fair compensation, recognition for their creative contributions, and fostering an environment where stories that reflect our culture and values can flourish.
